About Jo Baker
My background & expertise
As a qualified psychotherapist, I believe that supportive therapy can help anyone navigate emotional difficulties and lead a more fulfilling life. My goal is to equip you with tools to understand your emotions and their triggers, allowing you to become more secure in your sense of self and better able to control your responses to life's challenges.
I am a member of UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) and have maintained an established private practice in Central London for over 30 years. My initial training was within the statutory sector and the NHS, and I am qualified as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist through the Guild of Psychotherapists. In addition to providing psychotherapy and counselling, I also offer supervision for therapists and trainee therapists.
I provide a warm, accepting, and confidential environment in London Bridge. The frequency of sessions is adapted to individual needs, and I am qualified to work on multiple frequencies.

Welcome, what brings you here?
Anxiety & stress
Anxiety and fear of failure can be crippling. In a competitive city like London, stress can exacerbate social anxiety or conflicts with colleagues and friends.
Relationship issues
Even good relationships can present difficulties, while bad ones can be destructive. Together, we can address emotional, sexual, or financial conflicts.
Negative emotions
Depression, loneliness, frustration, anger and resentment can taint your life. We can work to break free from these harmful patterns.
Low self-esteem
When you feel like you have little to offer, we can untangle the roots of your negative self-image and rebuild a more constructive sense of self.
Destructive habits
Addictions, affairs, gambling, eating disorders or other out-of-control habits — investigating what underpins them can break negative patterns.
Feeling stuck
Eager to move on to a new, more productive phase of life? Gain perspective and the tools to make the most of what's ahead.
